In short
You would help check music written by AI, using your ears and your knowledge of songs. The work is remote and freelance, with 5 openings in total. It may suit you if you speak Japanese very well and have worked with music, whether you are just starting out or have many years of experience.
What you will do
- Listen to AI-made music in many styles and judge its quality against detailed standards.
- Place AI-written lyrics next to existing published songs to spot any resemblances.
- Score lyrics on quality, creativity, how well they follow the request, and originality.
- Decide whether Japanese lyrics feel natural, paying attention to vocabulary, casual speech and local expressions.
What you need to apply
- Japanese at a native or near-native level, plus enough English to understand long, detailed written guidelines.
- Past work as a songwriter, lyricist, performer, composer or music journalist, with knowledge of the Japanese music scene.
- Headphones or studio monitors good enough for careful listening.
- Nice to have: formal music training, published songwriting, or broad knowledge of current Japanese genres and artists.
Who can apply
Applicants from anywhere in the world may apply, since no country restriction is stated. The job is remote and offered on a freelance contract.
My tip
We suggest you upload a clear resume and practise speaking Japanese before the Bilingual Competency Interview, which is conducted in Japanese.
