In short

This remote job puts you on a generative AI team at a leading AI lab, helping improve AI models in software engineering and code review. It suits open-source maintainers and core contributors who know a mature codebase well and can judge code quality. It is a full-time role paying 150 USD per hour.

What you will do

  • Guide research and engineering teams so AI models get better at software engineering, code review and open-source maintenance.
  • Create realistic coding tasks based on an open-source project you know well, with clear reference solutions.
  • Check AI-written code, tests and grading rubrics, then give clear written feedback.
  • Build and run the project and its tests locally, including with Docker, to confirm tasks work as intended.
  • Write short explanations of what a strong solution looks like and where AI-generated code falls short.

What you need to apply

  • Maintainer or core contributor of a widely used open-source project, with a public GitHub history you can show.
  • Senior-level code review skills, including spotting weak AI-written code, tests and edge cases.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a W-2 basis.
  • Able to work 40 hours per week on weekdays, with no other full-time role or AI training projects.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to explain technical choices clearly.
