Software Engineer (Electron.js)

  • Contract: Full time
  • Who can apply: Open worldwide
  • Posted Oct 29, 2026

In short

You would help build a desktop app that tracks time quietly in the background on Mac and Windows computers, used every day by thousands of professionals. The work is full time and fully remote. It may suit you if you enjoy building reliable software that runs well without getting in the way.

What you will do

  • Design and improve a desktop program built with Electron.js that uses little computer power.
  • Build systems that record time and events in real time, even while the app runs in the background.
  • Collect activity signals such as keyboard, mouse and app use, while protecting privacy and staying efficient.
  • Create data flows that keep working offline and sync reliably later, including fixing conflicts between versions of data.
  • Work with product, design and backend teams to release features that help users be more productive.

What you need to apply

  • At least 3 years of experience building professional desktop apps with Electron.js.
  • Strong skills in JavaScript, TypeScript and Node.js.
  • Experience making software behave the same way on both macOS and Windows.
  • Some experience with real-time tracking, event streams or activity monitoring.
  • Good debugging skills, especially for tricky cases in offline or distributed systems.

Who can apply

The job is open to people anywhere in the world, since no country restriction is stated. You need at least 3 years of experience.

My tip

Show a desktop app you built with Electron.js, and explain how you kept it fast and reliable on both macOS and Windows. We suggest mentioning any work on offline data sync or activity tracking, since these are central to this role.
