In short

This remote contract mission asks you to test how AI models handle real code taken from public GitHub projects. You will work on bug fixes, test quality and project setup, helping build better training data for AI. It may suit experienced engineers who know Rust and enjoy digging into large codebases.

What you will do

  • Read and sort GitHub issues from popular open-source libraries.
  • Set up code repositories, including Docker and the full development environment.
  • Check how well unit tests cover the code and how good those tests are.
  • Change and run codebases on your own computer to see how AI tries to fix bugs.
  • Work with researchers to find repositories and issues that are hard for AI.

What you need to apply

  • 3+ years of overall experience in software engineering.
  • Strong experience with at least one language, such as Rust.
  • Working knowledge of Git, Docker and basic software pipeline setup.
  • Ability to find your way through complex codebases and run real projects locally.
  • Past work on open-source projects is a plus.

Who can apply

This part-time role is fully remote and open to residents of India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt, Ghana, Bangladesh, Turkey and Mexico.

My tip

Before you apply, check that your schedule allows at least 20 hours a week, with 4 hours a day overlapping with PST time. We suggest mentioning any open-source work you have done, since it stands out here.
