In short
micro1 is looking for lawyers who work in civil rights law to help train next-generation AI systems. You would use your legal knowledge to show AI how to reason about civil rights questions. No prior AI experience is needed, because your legal background is what matters most. There are 10 openings on this freelance contract, and the work is fully remote.
What you will do
- Read and explain civil rights laws, rules and court decisions, and check that they are relevant and accurate.
- Do legal research and write short summaries or memos about the main legal issues and earlier cases.
- Create realistic civil rights scenarios and legal problems that AI systems can learn from.
- Review legal analyses written by AI and give expert feedback on whether they meet legal standards.
What you need to apply
- A Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school is preferred.
- Admission to the bar in at least one jurisdiction is preferred.
- Substantial experience practicing civil rights law; a background at a prominent (BigLaw) firm is a plus.
- Strong skills in legal research, legal writing and case law analysis, plus the ability to explain legal ideas to non-lawyers.
Who can apply
You must be a lawyer to apply. The role is open worldwide, and the posting does not name any country restriction.
My tip
We suggest you point to specific civil rights cases or matters you have worked on, and show how you explain complex law in plain language. This matters because the role depends on clear, accurate legal content.
