In short
This freelance role is a part-time remote job for experienced lawyers who work on company deals. You would help train and check AI tools that read contracts and spot legal risks. It may suit you if you know mergers and acquisitions work and want to shape legal technology.
What you will do
- Practice contract negotiations in simulated exercises and mark up changes to draft texts.
- Review AI answers to contract questions and give expert feedback to improve their accuracy.
- Build clear scoring rules to measure how well AI handles contract work.
- Work with product and research teams to improve data, guidelines and best practices.
What you need to apply
- A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- At least 2 years in the M&A department of a corporate law firm.
- Familiarity with standard M&A agreements, such as APAs and SPAs.
Who can apply
The role is open worldwide, since no country restriction is stated. You must be a lawyer with at least 2 years of experience.
My tip
We suggest you point to real M&A contract work in your application, since the role relies on your legal judgment. Also keep in mind that pay is task-based, with an average of about 3.5 hours per task, so your effective hourly rate depends on how many tasks you complete and get approved.
