In short
This is a freelance contract for a Finance Research Expert, fully remote, with 20 openings and pay of 30 to 85 USD per hour. You will write finance questions about real US public companies and check them against AI models, using long SEC filings and each task takes around 4 to 8 hours. It may suit you if you already read 10-K filings and similar documents in finance, audit, or legal work.
What you will do
- Write finance questions about real US public companies, each with a verified answer and a source.
- Build questions that need a specific figure from a 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statement, earnings release, or investor presentation.
- Create questions where two documents show different numbers, so you must know which one is right, such as original versus restated or adjusted versus reported figures.
- Test each question against current AI models, keep only those they answer wrong, and rewrite any question that allows more than one correct answer.
What you need to apply
- Hands-on experience reading US SEC filings.
- Familiarity with US GAAP.
- A background in equity research, investment banking, credit or restructuring, SEC reporting or audit, or corporate law and due diligence.
- Comfort reading long filings, including footnotes and tables, and clear written English.
Who can apply
Anyone in the world can apply, because the posting does not restrict applicants by country. Your experience with US filings matters more than where you live.
My tip
Before you apply, confirm the hourly rate, since the posting lists $30 to $60 per hour while our details show 30 to 85 USD. We suggest you prepare to talk about specific filings you have worked with, because the finance interview is a short conversation about that experience.
