Legal Expert (J.D./LL.B.)

In short
Mercor works with AI research teams that need real legal judgment to test their models. This is a standing listing, not one fixed job: when a project starts, they match lawyers from their pool. If you are a lawyer who wants flexible, remote AI training and evaluation work, this may suit you.
What you will do
- Write a motion or legal brief from a set of facts, along with a reference answer that AI attempts are scored against
- Check AI-drafted contracts and discovery work to see if clauses do what they claim and if privilege calls are right
- Check whether citations truly support the points they are used for
- Point out when an AI gives correct law but would still lose because of the court, the standard of review, or weak facts
What you need to apply
- A J.D., LL.B., or LL.M. degree
- A current license to practice law
- Professional experience in litigation, transactional work, or regulatory practice
- Clear written communication, since you will often explain your reasoning
Who can apply
Applications are open worldwide, with no country restriction stated. You need at least 1 year of experience and must be a lawyer.
My tip
Show in your resume that you did the drafting and analysis yourself, and that your experience is recent. Then finish the short AI interview, since it helps your chances of being matched to a project.
