Semiconductor Engineering Expert

In short

This is a remote freelance role for a semiconductor expert. You will write hard technical problems from your own field and explain exactly what a correct answer looks like. It may suit engineers with a master's or PhD and senior experience in industry or at a university who enjoy checking reasoning carefully.

What you will do

• Write difficult technical problems from your own semiconductor specialty, such as device physics, packaging, or reliability, with realistic limits and supporting data.
• Work out the correct solution and explain each step of the reasoning that leads to it.
• Set clear rules for judging an answer, so another expert would reach the same verdict.
• Check problems written by other contributors for technical accuracy and a sound method.
• Flag problems that are unclear or impossible to grade, instead of passing them on.

What you need to apply

• A master's or PhD in electrical engineering, materials science, applied physics, or a closely related field.
• Principal, staff, or fellow-level experience at a major semiconductor company, or a faculty post at a leading university.
• Deep knowledge of at least one semiconductor subdomain, with hands-on ownership of the work.
• The ability to explain why an answer is correct clearly enough for another engineer to verify it.
