  • Pay: $110 to $125 / hour
  • Contract: Contract
  • Who can apply: United States

In short

This remote job asks you to check work written by AI on patent matters, such as patent applications and patent lawsuits. Your job is to judge how good it is and point out mistakes. It may suit lawyers who know patent law well and enjoy careful reading.

What you will do

  • Read patent texts that an AI model has produced for prosecution and/or litigation work.
  • Rate each text against set quality criteria.
  • Mark legal, technical, factual, claim-construction and citation errors directly in the text.
  • Write a short, clear reason for each of your judgments.
  • Finish all assigned reviews within the review window, after a short onboarding session.

What you need to apply

  • A lawyer's license, with active bar membership in at least one US state.
  • At least 3 years of experience in US patent prosecution and/or patent litigation.
  • A technical or scientific degree, such as engineering, computer science, life sciences, chemistry or physics.
  • A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • For prosecution work, registration to practice before the USPTO.

Who can apply

Only residents of the US can apply. You must hold the LAWYER credential, so you need to be a lawyer admitted to practice in at least one US state.

My tip

Show your USPTO registration number and any past data annotation or AI evaluation work, since these count as bonus qualifications. We suggest you plan for approximately 12, 15 hours in total and finish every review, because the project depends on it.
