In short
This hybrid role asks you to check and improve accounting and audit work that helps a leading AI lab make its models reason better. It suits seasoned accountants and auditors who want to use their professional judgment, and it pays 60 to 100 USD per hour on a full-time contract. It is not fully remote, so you would work on site in the Bay Area when required.
What you will do
- Review accounting and audit tasks and AI model answers, spotting weak reasoning, wrong standards, and answers that sound right but would not pass a expert check.
- Write instruction specs and golden solutions that show what a correct answer looks like.
- Design hard accounting and audit tasks and test sets to measure whether the model is getting better.
- Work with researchers and specialists to keep standards consistent and turn expert judgment into clear rules.
What you need to apply
- An active professional credential such as CPA, plus a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or a closely related field.
- At least 4 years of real accounting or audit experience, with clear progress to a senior level. Bookkeeping-only work does not count.
- Deep knowledge of at least one area, such as external audit, financial reporting, internal audit, tax, or forensic accounting.
- Hands-on use of large language models, strong written communication, and the ability to commit to 40 hours per week for an initial 6-month engagement.
Who can apply
You must be a resident of the US and live in the Bay Area, California, or be willing to move there at your own cost before the engagement starts, since this is not a remote role.
My tip
We suggest preparing a short, clear summary of your accounting or audit work and your CPA status, because the reviewers will look for proof of real senior experience.
