Federal Staff Reporting Analyst

In short

You would help train AI systems by writing and reviewing federal-style reports, such as situation reports and weekly action reports. No AI background is needed, since your knowledge of federal or military reporting is what matters. The pay is 40 to 80 USD per hour on a freelance contract, and there are 50 openings.

What you will do

• Write and revise official reports such as weekly action reports, situation reports, after-action summaries and executive briefings, based on given prompts and documents.
• Write clear sample answers and summaries that follow the style of federal and military reporting.
• Grade sample submissions using detailed guidelines, checking clarity, accuracy, compliance and reporting conventions.
• Help build guidelines, criteria and scoring rubrics for training AI models to write federal reports.
• Take part in feedback rounds and share ideas on how to design tasks and requirements.

What you need to apply

• No prior AI experience is needed.
• Preferably at least 3 years of work as a federal professional in federal reporting or staff writing, including in the US Department of War or Defense.
• Experience producing templated reports such as WARs, MARs, SITREPs and after-action reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with attention to clarity, tone and federal style guides.
• Comfort using Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) for official reports, memos and presentations.
