This remote freelance role asks you to write political reports and forecasts about US elections, polling, and political risk. It suits people who know one US state closely and have made real predictions on its races. You will be paid 100 to 200 USD per hour.

What you will do

• Write political reports and forecasts using a fixed evidence cutoff, relying only on what was known up to that date.
• Give your reasoned views on polls, chances of winning, and betting-market odds, and write down why you hold them.
• Explain how a political event could affect politics and markets, and the chain of cause and effect behind it.
• Review analyses written by AI models and grade them against your own expert standard.

What you need to apply

• Hands-on work on specific US races in swing states, current or recent, such as Senate, governor, or statewide contests.
• Deep knowledge of a state's voters, candidates, and local political climate.
• A track record of making live predictions about polls, win chances, or odds, not commentary written after results were known.
• Strong skills in reading polls and analyzing cause and effect.

Who can apply

You must live in CA, US to apply. Typically you need 8 or more years of direct experience, though unusually strong proven results may count as an equivalent.
