Senior Data Scientist and Data Engineering Experts

This freelance role on Mercor asks you to help a leading AI research lab improve how AI systems handle real data science and data engineering work. You would use your experience from strong technology, quantitative, financial or consulting teams to build and check tasks for AI models. It may suit experienced data people who enjoy clear, fair judgment and want to work remotely.

What you will do

• Design hard, realistic data tasks, such as analyses, statistical models, machine learning pipelines, data pipelines, SQL and Python work, and A/B test reports.
• Write clear, specific criteria that show what a good result looks like.
• Judge work in a consistent, evidence-based way, so that results can be repeated and defended.
• Read feedback from senior reviewers and improve your submitted work.

What you need to apply

• 4 years or more of professional experience in data science, data engineering or machine learning.
• Strong skills in Python, SQL, statistical modeling, machine learning, experimentation and causal inference.
• A proven record of turning messy real-world data into reliable analyses and pipelines.
• Excellent written English and a Bachelor's degree from an English-speaking country.
