In short

Mercor is looking for practicing orthodontists to help test how well AI reads real dental X-rays and scans. You would act as the expert reference, so your clinical judgment helps shape tools that patients may rely on. It may suit you if you are an experienced orthodontist who wants remote, flexible part-time work.

What you will do

• Read de-identified orthodontic images, such as cephalometric and panoramic radiographs, CBCT scans and intraoral scans, and write the correct finding for each one.
• Use the diagnostic habits and treatment-planning reasoning you rely on in your own practice.
• Check AI-written reads and mark any errors that are wrong, not supported by the images, or risky for patient care.
• Write short, structured notes explaining your reasoning on accuracy, completeness and clarity.

What you need to apply

• A DDS or DMD from a dental school in the United States.
• A completed accredited orthodontics residency, such as a certificate or MS in orthodontics.
• An active, unrestricted US dental license.
• Currently treating patients as an orthodontist in the US, with at least 5 years of independent practice after residency.

Who can apply

Only residents of the US may apply, and the posting excludes those living in California. The role is a remote freelance contract paying 150 USD per hour.
