In short
You would help define how advanced AI models reason about real chemistry, using your expert judgment to check work and design tests. The role pays 90 to 140 USD per hour on a freelance contract, and it suits chemists with deep, hands-on specialist experience who want fully remote work.
What you will do
- Review chemistry tasks and AI model answers, spotting wrong mechanisms, impossible reactions, and mistakes in calculations or spectra.
- Write clear problem statements and careful reference solutions that show what a correct answer looks like.
- Design hard, research-level problems and test sets in your own area of specialty.
- Work with other researchers to turn expert intuition into clear rules that others can learn and apply.
What you need to apply
- A PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a closely related field.
- A senior research role, such as faculty, principal investigator, or senior scientist, at a university, national laboratory, or research organization.
- Real specialization in at least one area of chemistry, plus a strong record of peer-reviewed publications.
- Hands-on experience with large language models, and excellent written communication skills.
Who can apply
Only residents of the US may apply, and a PhD is required. The contract is freelance and the work is fully remote.
My tip
We suggest you state your specific research area and publication record clearly in your application, since this role depends on real specialist depth.
