In short
Mercor is looking for ophthalmologists to help test AI tools that answer eye care questions. You would check the answers against de-identified patient charts and judge how accurate and safe they are. It may suit doctors who want to use their clinical experience from home, with 3 openings and a rate of 175 USD per hour.
What you will do
- Read de-identified patient charts and check each AI answer against them.
- Judge whether AI answers to eye care questions are accurate, safe and in line with current standards of care.
- Choose which of two AI responses is stronger.
- Write short, structured notes explaining your reasoning on rigor, completeness and clarity.
- Flag any error that could put a patient at risk.
What you need to apply
- Board certification in ophthalmology from an ABMS member board or the AOA.
- An MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school, with residency completed and fellowship if your specialty requires it.
- An active, unrestricted US medical license.
- At least 1 year of independent practice after training, currently seeing patients in the US; 3+ years of post-training experience is strongly preferred.
- Clear written communication and close attention to detail.
Who can apply
The facts say the role is open worldwide, with no country restriction stated, but the posting also asks for an active, unrestricted US medical license and current practice in the US, so check that you meet those points before applying.
My tip
We suggest preparing your resume and credentials before you apply, since the 25-minute conversational interview covers your background and motivations and your credentials are verified during onboarding.
