In short
You would help build new text-to-speech systems that make computer voices sound natural and warm. The work is for an AI research lab, found through Mercor, and it suits professional voice actors, people from customer service, and newcomers with a clear voice. Nine spots are open, and applications are accepted all the time.
What you will do
- Record voice samples in many styles, such as everyday conversation, storytelling, and instructions.
- Speak clearly and naturally, paying attention to tone, speed, and how each word is pronounced.
- Keep your voice, accent, and delivery the same across recording sessions.
- Follow detailed recording rules for your room, microphone, and file format.
- Do several takes with different emotion, emphasis, or style when asked.
What you need to apply
- Be a native English speaker with a real Australian accent, currently living in Australia.
- Have a good microphone, a quiet room, and a pop filter, or a close-to-professional setup.
- Read scripts exactly as written while still sounding natural.
- Be free for one recording session of approximately 4 hours, and possibly a second one of similar length.
- Agree to voice cloning, since your voice may be copied for the client's customer-service AI agent.
Who can apply
This job is open to residents of Australia only. Students may apply.
My tip
Read the voice cloning note carefully before you apply, because it is a key condition of this job. We suggest recording a short test in your quiet space first, so you can check your microphone and sound before you send your application.
