In short
Mercor is looking for Malay language experts to help test and improve an AI language model. You would check how well the AI writes and understands Malay, then help make it better. This may suit you if you read and write Malay very well and enjoy careful work with words.
What you will do
- Check whether AI-written Malay text is correct and natural, for tasks like translation, summaries, chats, and grammar fixes.
- Edit or rewrite Malay text so it fits proper grammar and local cultural norms.
- Label Malay text by its grammar, sentence structure, and meaning.
- Spot the model's mistakes and gaps, then work with AI researchers to fix them.
- Write clear feedback on the language to guide the next rounds of training.
What you need to apply
- Native or near-native fluency in Malay, with a strong grasp of grammar and style.
- At least 1 years of professional experience in translation, editing, language labeling, or language data work in Malay.
- A good sense of regional differences and how words fit different contexts.
- Sharp eye for detail, able to notice small errors or phrasing that sounds unnatural.
- Clear written communication and experience working in remote teams.
Who can apply
You can apply from anywhere in the world, as the posting does not limit applicants by country. The work is a freelance contract, and you must be fluent in Malay and English.
My tip
Show real examples of your Malay editing or translation work in your application, and mention where you have spotted errors or improved text. Clear, specific proof of your skills will help you stand out.
