In short
Mercor is looking for 2 people who know Indonesian very well to help test an AI language model. You would check how well the model writes and understands Indonesian, then help make it better. If you love languages and want to see how AI is built from the inside, this freelance role could suit you.
What you will do
- Check how correct and natural Indonesian text written by an AI model is, for jobs like translation, summaries, dialogue and grammar fixes.
- Edit or rewrite Indonesian text so it fits proper language rules and local culture.
- Label Indonesian sentences by their grammar, sentence structure and meaning.
- Find the model's mistakes and gaps, and work with AI researchers on fixing them.
- Write clear, detailed feedback that guides the next steps of model training.
What you need to apply
- Native or near-native Indonesian, with strong grammar and writing style.
- Professional experience with Indonesian in translation, editing, labeling or language data work.
- A good sense of regional differences and of which words fit each situation.
- A sharp eye for small errors and phrases that sound unnatural.
- Clear communication and comfort working in remote teams.
Who can apply
You can apply from anywhere in the world, since no country restriction is stated. The work is remote, paid at 30 USD per hour, and offered on a freelance contract.
My tip
Add examples of your past Indonesian translation, editing or labeling work to your application, and say which regional styles you know well. Interest in AI is welcome but not required, so mention it only if it is true for you.
